Description

Are you ready to teach equivalent fractions? With this quick, no-prep interactive math notebook set you can teach TEKS 4.3C or CCSS 4.NF.A.1 easily. Introduce identifying equivalent fractions using various methods including area models, pattern tables, tape diagrams, number lines, and multiplication by the same numerator and denominator with a mini book, a partner practice activity, an individual practice activity, and a 4 question formative assessment.

This set includes:

► Equivalent fractions mini book with student instructions

► 4-strategy equivalent fractions practice

► Equivalent fraction practice game

► 4-question multiple choice assessment

Check out the preview to see everything included!

These notebook materials require minimal cutting and pasting, but maximum learning! I love using interactive notebook activities with my students, but many of the engaging activities for the notebook involved so much cutting and gluing. Especially for some students with less than fantastic cutting and folding skills, getting the notebook activity ready could take longer than the actual instruction! I wanted something academically relevant and rigorous but easy to cut, fold, and glue. That is what inspired this series…Interactive Mini Books!

More 4th grade math materials are coming soon! Make sure to follow to get all the updates on new interactive notebooks and math stations!

Explain why a fraction 𝘢/𝘣 is equivalent to a fraction (𝘯 × 𝘢)/(𝘯 × 𝘣) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
