Description

This is a guided notes resource that strictly covers standard 7.EE.2 - writing equivalent percent expressions. I teach this at the end of my Percents Unit (7.RP.3) so that students can make better connections to the real world percent applications that we just covered (discount, tax, tip, interest, etc.) as well as reviewing combining like terms/simplifying expressions (7.EE.1).

This is a tricky standard to seamlessly place in the 7th grade curriculum and I have found this to be the best so far. A teacher copy is included.

This note sheet can be hole punched and placed right into a student's binder or copied at 70 - 75% to create a size that would fit into a composition sized interactive notebook.

Understand that rewriting an expression in different forms in a problem context can shed light on the problem and how the quantities in it are related. For example, 𝘢 + 0.05𝘢 = 1.05𝘢 means that “increase by 5%” is the same as “multiply by 1.05.”
