Escape From Math 2 - Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
Share

Description

In this activity, students have to graph six lines by utilizing properties of parallel and perpendicular lines. The graph paper is a plan of a room superimposed on a coordinate grid. Once the six lines are drawn correctly, only one exit will be available to escape room. Students have to find that exit.

There are two versions of the game, both available with this download. The six equations can all be given at once to each player, and then it simply becomes a race to solve the problem as quickly as possible.

Or each player is given only one of the six equations and they have to trade with other players to find the remaining equations in an effort to solve the problem.

This activity typically takes 15-20 minutes and is a great review activity. The questions feature 3 parallel line questions and 3 perpendicular line questions. One of each the parallel and perpendicular line questions is a horizontal or vertical line.

The zip file contains a pdf of the activity, an accompanying PowerPoint and the answers.
