Description
This interactive journal is the perfect way to engage students in reading the book Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. Students are asked to draw 3 settings and provide a written description of each using text evidence. They are asked to draw and describe a number of characters including Esperanza, Mama, Miguel, the Tios, Isabel and Marta. Finally students are asked to respond to two reading reflection questions using higher order thinking. This is a great project to leave for students when with a sub (after you have modeled the first few pages yourself). This projects takes my students over a week to complete.
