Description

This graphic organizer is to be used with the novel Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan to help students organize, edit, and publish their own Readers Theater scripts.

This product includes instructions, and 15 sections for students to write their scripts. Make additional copies if necessary.

After reading the novel students will chose a character from the novel, a setting, and a challenge or problem. Students can use this organizer to draft their scripts, and make their edits. After the writing process is complete students can use the following webpage to publish and print their scripts.

http://www.scholastic.com/esperanza/storybuilder.htm

My students had a BLAST writing and performing their scripts. My 5th graders really took their time going back into the text to research, practice performing, and the use of the webpage made this activity even more student friendly.

I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine did!
Happy Reading and Writing! Enjoy
