Description

Explore the theme of HOPE, support reading comprehension, and encourage citing of text evidence.

This resource is intended to be used as a culminating activity, after reading the novel Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan.

This book broaches many important, relevant topics: social injustice, human rights, women’s rights, domestic violence, poverty, workers’ rights, immigration, healthcare… the list goes on.

For this writing activity, the focus is theme and the question posed to students is:

Esperanza means HOPE.

Why is this significant to the story?

***Students must use text evidence to support their ideas***

*There are 2 ways to publish. I’ve included writing paper and a banner option. Enjoy!
