Description

This is a Powerpoint all about estimating differences. First, students will investigate rounding to the nearest hundred as they view price tags for various items. Next, students will practice mental math as they subtract numbers in the hundreds (ex. 700-500=200). Finally, students will have to practice rounding numbers and then subtracting to find an estimate for a word problem that is presented. Have them answer the questions using a white board, Today's Meet, or any other kind of student response system! Slides are animated to reveal the correct answer. Answers will not appear until you click when Powerpoint is launched into presentation mode.

Students love games, so this resource was great! It was also good for them to see real world situations to help estimating make more sense. This is a really hard concept for them. Thanks so much!
