Description

In this set of digital and printable task cards, students will estimate the square root of 16 non-perfect square roots. Within the digital set of task cards for Google Sheets, each correct answer will automatically reveal part of the picture on the student's screen. However, if a student's answer is incorrect, the answer box will turn red, and part of the image will not be revealed providing students with immediate feedback. To allow for easy student input, this resource contains an answer grid with 24 answer choices for the 16 questions.

This Product Includes:

  • 1 Digital Self-Checking Picture Puzzle for Google Sheets
  • 1 Printable Copy of 16 Task Cards
  • Printable Student Answer Recording Sheet (with and without Answer Grid of possible answers)
  • Answer Key

Since the digital format of this activity is compatible with Google Sheets, the digital activity can easily be assigned in Google Classroom as a digital homework assignment or test prep. Because this activity includes a digital and printable format, this can easily be implemented in a distance learning, hybrid, or in-person teaching environment.

My students really love the self checking aspect of this assignment. I love that it motivates them as they work through the problems. They want to see they got their answers correct and when they don't get the correct answer it encourages them to reevaluate what they did and how to fix their mistakes.

We review squares and square roots at the beginning of the year, so this was an awesome activity to practice the topic! Kids loved easing into school and not doing just a basic worksheet but something different. Thanks! :)
