This maths pack has 20 differentiated task cards each with a problem involving estimation in outdoors. It will get your class outside applying and improving their estimation and problem solving skills.
Along with each card there is a clue card in order to support those children that need a helping hand.
How I used them: After having an initial lesson on what estimation is and going through a few basic problems I stuck the cards up in appropriate places outside. In the pairs the children went around the school grounds finding the cards and solving the problems. My class got through about 4 problems each per lesson.
This is a great activity to challenge your class and get them enjoying maths!

I've kept this resource handy at my side for many years. I will often look through it to get ideas and head out the door! I don't always have a stop-watch or measuring tapes handy, which is the only thing that makes some of these challenges difficult.
