This is an organized packet that I created to help my students take notes on their European Explorers in the classroom. This organizer is set up to help students get information on what country the explorers represented, where they explored, what were they looking for, what did they find, what their impact was on the world, and other important information, etc...

This covers a note-taking page on the Silk Road and note-taking pages on 18 European Explorers. The explorers covered in this packet are as follows: Marco Polo, Prince Henry the Navigator, Bartholomew Dias, Christopher Columbus, John Cabot, Vasco Da Gama, Amerigo Vespucci, Vasco Nunez de Balboa, Juan Ponce de Leon, Ferdinand Magellan, Hernando Cortez, Francisco Pizarro, Jaques Cartier, Hernando de Soto, Francisco Coronado, Sir Francis Drake, Samuel de Champlain, and Henry Hudson.

This organizer has helped keep my students focused and organized while taking notes on and learning about these explorers (especially my special education students and English language learners). I usually have each student learn about and research one explorer using my Explorer Graphic Organizer. Then, each student (or pair) creates a project and presentation. I then have my students use this note-taking packet to help them take notes, while the other groups are presenting. In the end, each student glues their note-taking pages into their interactive notebook.
