Description

BASIC Evaluating Expressions - Using Substitution:

I recently started doing "notes to color" with my sixth grade kiddos! As they come into class, I give them their notes sheet for the day. They get about 5-7 minutes to get their materials and then calm down by coloring their notes (even if it's something small like coloring or decorating the title)! They have absolutely LOVED IT. They enjoy being able to add a little "pop" to their notes! I've started to create all of my notes like this because it's been a success to have them come in and calm down before getting started. I do plan on uploading more soon, so make sure you check back!

Product Includes:

  • Notes Page (Evaluating Expressions using Substitution) - Basic Level
  • Practice/Homework Page (12 questions)
Practice - Answer Key (Formatted for EASY, QUICK, GRADING!!)

Thank You! ❤️

I really appreciate your interest in my product! I love to create new things for my students! As I'm working hard to continue to grow my TPT store and business, it would mean so much to me if you left a kind review and rating after purchasing a product (or freebie!) If you have any questions about this resource, you're welcome to reach out!

This was fantastic. The use of this worksheet has helped scaffold for my students who are learning English as a second language (ELL) as well as kids who have learning disabilities and are having trouble understanding the standards.

Write, read, and evaluate expressions in which letters stand for numbers.
Evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. Include expressions that arise from formulas used in real-world problems. Perform arithmetic operations, including those involving whole-number exponents, in the conventional order when there are no parentheses to specify a particular order (Order of Operations). For example, use the formulas V = s³ and A = 6 s² to find the volume and surface area of a cube with sides of length s = 1/2.
