Description

Keep your students engaged with this fun self-checking 6th grade digital math activity! Students evaluate expressions using substitution. Expressions include terms with one variable, two variables, coefficients, and exponents. When entering their answer in the digital activity, if the answer is correct, the box will turn green. If the answer is incorrect, the box will turn red. Encourage students to go back and check their work/redo their work if the box turns red. Great review for 7th grade!

This activity aligns well with: 

CCSS:

  • 6.EE.1: Write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole-number exponents. 
  • 6.EE.2c: Evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. Include expressions that arise from formulas used in real-world problems. Perform arithmetic operations, including those involving whole-number exponents, in the conventional order when there are no parentheses to specify a particular order (Order of Operations). 

NGLS

  • NY-6.EE.1: Write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole number exponents.
