Description
Students will pair up to evaluate functions. Even though each student will be solving their own problems, all answers will be the same! This activity is differentiated into two parts:
- Worksheet A and B involve students evaluating linear and square root functions. Students will also have to practice substituting negative values.
- Worksheet C and D are more difficult as they require students to evaluate functions with higher degrees. Students will also practice substituting negative values into higher degrees.
What's included:
Student worksheets (4 versions) and answer key
Strategies for Teachers:
Use this as a tool to group your students. You can give the same letter to students you don't want working together and allow the class to select another person, who doesn't have their letter, to work with.
This activity provokes conversation when students don't get the same answer. It forces them to talk to each other before they ask for help! And what teacher doesn't want that!
