Support Executive Functioning Skills with this fun book companion activity! Make problem-solving fun and hands-on with this interactive craft! Designed to pair with What’s the Problem? by Julia Cook, this activity helps students learn and practice the steps of solving problems in a concrete and engaging way.


This resource includes two versions of the Problem-Solving Puzzle:

  • Version 1: Blank Puzzle Pieces – Students cut, write in the problem-solving steps, color, and glue their puzzle back together on the solver sheet.
  • Version 2: Pre-Written Steps – Students cut out puzzle pieces, match the picture icons to each step, color, and glue their puzzle onto the solver sheet.

✨ Perfect for reinforcing Executive Functioning skills such as planning, organization, flexible thinking, and self-monitoring.
✨ Works well in small groups, whole class lessons, counseling sessions, or as a book companion activity.
✨ Simple cut-and-paste format makes it easy to prep and fun for students!
