Description
The exploitation of wild animals has always been a societal concern and perhaps now, even more so with the popular Tiger King documentary series on Netflix. Whether you have had a chance to see it or not, the series depicts several different scenarios where exotic animals are being exploited for financial purposes. This resource will get students thinking critically and raise awareness about a species’ welfare in both the wild, in private and public zoos, as well as in sanctuaries.
This download includes both a PRINTABLE version of the activities and a DIGITAL copy of the resource. The digital component is a Google resource (which is FREE to create), then your students will complete this activity online via Google Slides if preferred.
Note: Students do not need to have watched the series to complete the activities, nor is it encouraged; however, due to the popularity of the show, many of your students may have already viewed the show. The worksheets do not reference the characters within the show or the ideas they presented. Rather, the assignment is a reflection of one’s own personal feelings on the general notion of the exploitation of exotic animals.
