Description
In my short time teaching the 4th grade I have discovered that many students struggle with placing numbers in expanded form. The issue arise when they do not know how many digits are needed for each place value. This chart provides students a space to write their number in standard form, "drop" down to each place value spot with an open spot for them to write the digit that belongs in that column, and the appropriate amount of zeros to assist them in ensuring them accuracy. This is a great tool to use with students who struggle with place value and can be used during small groups or teacher intervention groups.
It can be easily altered simply by "X"-ing out place value spots that will not be used by the student.
