Description

While this two-page resource follows the teaching PowerPoint of the same name, it can be used alone as practice on expanded notation. There are two forms provided. The first two pages have the place value charts if students are still needing assistance in creating them. Pages 3 and 4 are the same questions but without the place value charts. A key is also provided.

Some suggested uses are:

  • If you purchased the teaching PowerPoint, students can fill in notes as you guide them through the lesson.
  • Use for group work, where the students talk through each step together.
  • Use in teams of 2, where one student “teaches” the process to their partner.
  • If students are ready, independent practice is another use.
