Our Expanded Number Forms lesson plan teaches students how to convert standard numbers into expanded forms. Expanded form turns standard numbers into an addition sentence with each number expressed using its place value. Students are asked to practice writing given numbers in expanded form. Students are also asked to write expanded numbers in standard numeric form, demonstrating understanding of the lesson.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to create addition expressions to show the expanded number form.
