Description

This bundle of experimental design activities contains doodle notes, a lab activity, and a project that together will help your students to understand and practice experimental design and the scientific method. They will engage in writing testable questions, making observations, identifying variables, predicting, measuring and collecting data, basic data analysis skills, and the claim-evidence-reasoning framework.

This bundle contains:

  • a set of scaffolded doodle notes on experimental design
  • a (free) lesson on the claim evidence reasoning (CER) framework
  • a fun bubble solutions lab activity that helps students practice identifying variables, measuring and collecting data, and writing a CER
  • an experimental design project for students to put it all together!

These activities will take from 6 to 8 45-minute class periods to complete and used together they will help strengthen your students' skills in DOING science! Perfect activities for the beginning of the school year.
