Description

This PowerPoint helps students with the abstract concept of numbers by using concrete place value blocks that represent the number. This lesson begins simply with counting place value blocks to name numbers in the tens and hundreds, and eventually it moves to numbers in the thousands. Lesson increases in difficulty as it continues. Students will compare numbers with greater than and less than signs; add blocks to find a new number; use a chart to break a number down into each place and more. The same lesson is also available in my store in PDF format that can be printed and/or used with EASEL. It is also available in SMARTboard format for those with SMART Notebook software. Answer slides are also included so this lesson can work well in a center.
