Description

Students will need a device for my math webquest on the properties of exponents. Students will be given a link that goes to my website containing information about the properties of exponents. I have included a worksheet that aligns to the information on my website. All you need to do is print and go! In addition, there is a short quiz.

Webquests are great for sub days or any day! Students research and write down the information on their paper. Students are able to retain information better when they write it down!

Why are my webquests worth every penny?

1.) I not only create the pdf for the student template and answer key, but I create ALL of the information and videos on the website! It is my own personal website so I am in charge of all the information posted on my site!

2.) Webquests are a great way to introduce information to students! It has been stated many times that children learn the most when they write down information. My webquests will help students retain information, and provide them with plenty of examples!

3.) The webquests are excellent to use when you have a sub! All of the answers for the student templates can be easily found on my website!

I left this for sub work for students and it was great! This was also used as a review of exponents properties we had previously gone over, but students were able to do this independently and really enjoyed it!

I used this as an introduction to exponent properties towards the end of the year with my seventh graders and as a review for my eighth graders. I loved the interactive aspect to the website. Students could work independently or with partners.

Overall, the resource was good for a refresher with my advanced students. I don't know if it would be as useful as an introductory activity for my general Prealgebra classes. I'll not be able to try until next year. I was glad, though, that the seller was able to correct the mistakes found in the resource.

The Webquest has at least one mistake (that students and I have found so far). There also should definitely be some videos to go along with the information. I had to supplement the Webquests with videos. It should also include fractional exponents (in my opinion) which it does not. Webquests are meant to be independent, so when there are mistakes and we have to find supplemental videos it makes the possibility of them being independent impossible.
