Description

This editable algebra foldable provides an organized introduction to exponential decay. The first tab provides a place to write and explain the formula along with an example of exponential decay in the form of an equation, table, and graph. The second tab has students write the equation from a table. In the third tab, students will graph 2 examples of exponential decay functions.

This foldable is an excellent complement to my Exponential Growth foldable.

Perfect for interactive math notebooks! I use this type of assignment during whole group guided instruction, but it would also work great for intervention, small group, centers, or during a tutoring session.

For a function that models a relationship between two quantities, interpret key features of graphs and tables in terms of the quantities, and sketch graphs showing key features given a verbal description of the relationship.
Graph functions expressed symbolically and show key features of the graph, by hand in simple cases and using technology for more complicated cases.
Use the properties of exponents to interpret expressions for exponential functions. For example, identify percent rate of change in functions such as y = (1.02) to the š˜µ power, š˜ŗ = (0.97) to the š˜µ power, š˜ŗ = (1.01) to the 12š˜µ power, š˜ŗ = (1.2) to the š˜µ/10 power, and classify them as representing exponential growth or decay.
