Description

This Google Slides™ activity provides focused practice converting equations between exponential form and logarithmic form. Students rewrite each expression from one form to the other, strengthening their understanding of how exponentials and logarithms are related.

The problems are arranged to increase in difficulty, allowing students to build fluency and confidence as they progress. Each slide presents a complete conversion problem, making this resource ideal for practice, review, or assessment after instruction has been introduced.

Students type their answers directly into the slides, making it easy for teachers to check understanding in real time or through Google Classroom.

This activity works well for:

  • Algebra 2
  • Precalculus
  • Independent practice
  • Review before quizzes or tests
  • Digital assignments and math centers

No prep required—just make a copy and assign.

What’s Included

  • Interactive Google Slides™ activity
  • Practice converting exponential to logarithmic form and vice versa
  • Problems that increase in difficulty
  • Teacher-ready digital format

Use the structure of an expression to identify ways to rewrite it. For example, see 𝘹⁴ – 𝘺⁴ as (𝘹²)² – (𝘺²)², thus recognizing it as a difference of squares that can be factored as (𝘹² – 𝘺²)(𝘹² + 𝘺²).
Graph exponential and logarithmic functions, showing intercepts and end behavior, and trigonometric functions, showing period, midline, and amplitude.
For exponential models, express as a logarithm the solution to 𝘢𝘣 to the 𝘤𝘵 power = 𝘥 where 𝘢, 𝘤, and 𝘥 are numbers and the base 𝘣 is 2, 10, or 𝘦; evaluate the logarithm using technology.
