Description

Make exponential functions review engaging and competitive with this interactive 4-in-a-Row math game! Students solve exponential word problems and strategically mark numbers on their game cards as they work toward getting four in a row. This activity reviews key exponential function concepts while encouraging participation, problem solving, and classroom excitement. Students solve real-world problems involving exponential growth, exponential decay, compound interest, and half-life. When students answer a question correctly and the number is revealed, they mark that number on their game board. The first student to get four in a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) wins!

Use the properties of exponents to interpret expressions for exponential functions. For example, identify percent rate of change in functions such as y = (1.02) to the 𝘡 power, 𝘺 = (0.97) to the 𝘡 power, 𝘺 = (1.01) to the 12𝘡 power, 𝘺 = (1.2) to the 𝘡/10 power, and classify them as representing exponential growth or decay.
