Description
Students receive a handout describing an expository essay. I listed topics that students could choose from (what we had covered so far that year in math). Students write an expository essay explaining how to do something in math. I also provide a full example of an expository essay on how to add mixed numbers for students to see. This is a great way to get students writing in math! It also helps with 21st century skills. I showed students how to insert equations, objects, etc. in Microsoft Word for their essays. This also helps students really understand/master the skill/topic they chose.
Both are Word docs so they can be modified.
