This is a SAMPLE lesson from my Rocks and Minerals Unit. In this lesson, students learn how minerals are extracted through a fun, hands-on activity using chocolate chip cookies. They will also read a booklet filled with information on how mining affects our environment and reflect on different point of views and perspectives of the mining industry.
