Description

Looking for a way to provide intervention in Tier 1? FIP is your answer! FIP is a code given to students and parents on a test or assignment when a student hasn't mastered a certain standard yet. It has a similar vocabulary to a growth mindset and standards based philosophy.

My team and I usually use online FIP activities like Ed Puzzle videos, iReady tutorials, Khan Academy activities and more. We use these FIP activities because they walk through the standard with them via video and they give them another opportunity to understand the concept and standard.

We then take the average of their old grade with their FIP grade and place that in the gradebook. These forms not only communicate to the families of our grading policy but they also keep the teacher organized when students finish FIP assignment.
