Description

Do you need a fire drill social story? This social story helps to teach students what to expect and what to do when the fire alarm goes off during a fire drill. It comes with an optional sticker page to reward student attempts. My social stories use Boardmaker picture communication symbols (PCS) and chunk information to help prek, kindergarten, Autistic, and special needs students. They come in both color and black and white, giving you options if you don't have access to color ink, or if you think your student would like to color the images. Printing in black and white and stapling the book also gives you a low prep opportunity to help your student generalize the skill (by taking a copy home).

For the color version, I recommend laminating and using either a binding comb or a binding ring to fasten the pages together. If you use a binding ring, you can easily add and/or remove pages to customize the book for your student based on their needs.

Download this social story for a low prep tool to help your students prepare for these drills, and to be safe in the case of a real emergency.

Teaching is a very demanding profession, and especially so when we teach children with disAbilities. We don't get the resources we need, or the time necessary to prepare materials. That it is why it is important to find content creators that can provide materials that really help save time and are useful in class.
