Description

Students can practice their fraction skills by using these task cards in a SCOOT game, a scavenger hunt game or through centers. This packet includes a total of 32 Task Cards covering a variety of skills for fourth grade math. It can also be used as a pre-cursor to a fraction unit in fifth grade math to measure retention from prior years.

There are 24 Problem-Solving Task Cards included. Some involve multiple steps, and some have more than one multiple-choice answer to find. These include the following skills:

*Adding Fractions with Unlike Denominators

*Simplifying Fractions

*Comparing Fractions with Unlike Denominators

*Determining Equivalency of Fractions

*Word Problems using Fractions of Unlike Denominators

In addition to the 24 Task Cards, there are also 8 "Writing Break" Task Cards to give students a break in a SCOOT game set-up. There are also 4 blank cards if you'd like to create your own cards that look like the others.

Also included is a Recording Sheet, an Answer Key, and a Suggestions page.

If you need a Recording Sheet with more than just 24 squares, you can find other FREEBIE options in my store at Christy Hollar.

This is a great resource for Guided Math Centers. My students look forward to Friday SCOOT and also enjoy around the room scavenger hunts during Hand-On Centers. This SCOOT is unique because it offers some fun "Brain Breaks" that still incorporate the focus of the lesson. Great Resource for Upper Elementary!!
