Description
Using addition, subtraction, and multiplication of decimals, your students will shop 'til they drop with the Book Club Order Form. All you will need are these pages and extra Book Club Order Forms.
Students are given a budget of $200 to choose books to "buy" from the book club order form. There are some stipulations though! They have to have multiple copies of at least 5 different titles (to practice multiplying) They also need a running total (to practice subtraction) and a final receipt (to practice addition.)
Students will practice many important math skills, while still having fun! This is designed as an independent project, but may need some scaffolding. You can do it as a whole group activity or in a small group setting.
I have included my entire blog post as well as some pictures so you can see exactly how to do this project.

I loved this activity. I used it for Book clubs and it helped the students analyze the story.
So helpful in the classroom with students!
great
Great!
This was great to use as a time filling activity and something the students can go back to. It was nicely written out so the students can complete independently.
This is a good resource to have on hand when teaching virtually. I teach SPED grades K-12.
We use this every year, fun way to do some practice shopping! Useful resource, thank you!
Fun!
