This fun, winter themed resource includes 6 scripts to use for guided visualization practice with your students. These scripts focus on using simple but descriptive language to help your students visualize the scenes.

Visualizing texts is an important reading comprehension skill, and is often given less attention than other comprehension and decoding strategies in the classroom. This resource allows you to give focused attention on the skill of visualization, to help equip your students with an extra strategy to use when reading or hearing texts.

How To Use It

There are teacher notes included in this resource that give you a step by step guide for running this visualization activity. Simply print one of the scripts and read it aloud to your class. Then, have them recount the text either orally or through drawings. Repeat daily or weekly using all 6 scripts for regular visualization practice.

The snow one was very well written. I had the kids close their eyes as I read it and they used their journals to illustrate and write. We really struggled with writing this year so I needed something they could relate to for a good writing piece.
