I use these cards when I have a few minutes left at the end of the hour. The kids see these as a challenge and enjoy doing them.

My first grade pupil needs mathematical challenges. She has learned multiplication using this author's multiplication project. These activities provide that challenge. She loves cracking the code. Using lots of images as variables prepares students for algebra without the confusion of injecting letters.

Shelley, thank you!! This freebie saved me when I was sick and needed to take time off unexpectedly. It also got my students looking at algebra differently. Thank you!
