Description

This is a fun, hands-on exploration of the importance of classification in science AND ALL OTHER areas of life. Working in small groups, students will discuss classification systems that they use in everyday life and why they are important.

Next, they will explore all of the ways that a deck of cards can be classified. Finally, they will perform a simple, AND FUN test to determine the effectiveness of various classification methods.

There is a simple data table for recording results. Students could even graph their results.
