Description

I created this FSA Simulation to simulate the varying levels of rigor on the actual 3rd Grade Math FSA. The test includes Session 1 and Session 2, each with 32 questions. It also includes an answer sheet for the student, and an answer key for the teacher, parent, or for the student to self-correct. I have also included a guide that correlates each question number to the Florida Standard (along with the Georgia Standard and the Common Core Standard). This way you can total up the number of questions missed by Domain and/or Standard to see where the most work is needed for the actual FSA.

This test was designed to simulate the Florida FSA, but the standards are very similar to most other states. Therefore this also makes a great practice test for:

Georgia Milestones

Indiana ILEARN

Arizona AZMerit

Ohio OST

Tennessee TN Ready

South Carolina SC Ready

Michigan M-STEP

Kentucky K-PREP

Virginia SOL

Wisconsin Forward

all PARCC and Smarter Balanced State Assessments

other Common Core-based assessments

I have priced this very reasonably compared to other full-length, rigorous simulations that are available online and in various texts, because I want all students and teachers to be able to benefit from it. I hope this helps. If you like it, please provide feedback including how you used it so that other teachers may benefit from your experience. I use this as a practice test and review, but it can also be used for math centers, math talks, homework, small group review, whole group review, etc.

My students worked on this prior to their FSA. They were happy to have the practice and to get an idea of what the FSA would be like.

I am wondering why the answer key does NOT match the questions... The key says the question is one standard, but they do NOT match up. I planned to use this as a quick review for myself to know which standards to hone in on but with it not matching up and I am left wondering if I'll have the time to do so.... Good questions overall.

Great resource as we practice for the FSA Math test in May. Question stems are spot on and the students are engaged in the learning.

My students enjoyed using this resource for morning work and also as a "I'm done, I can do this..." activity. I also used it for my FSA tutoring sessions.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
