Fact Family Train Ride is an independent center created to give students practice with fact families and memorization of their addition and subtract facts.
In this center students are asked to match each addition and subtraction fact with the number family of 11. After the students have created their fact family trains, there is an independent worksheet to informally assess their knowledge of the number family.
Although this center was aligned to 1st grade standards, it would be a great review for struggling 2nd and 3rd graders.
Common Core aligned to 1st grade standard:
1.OA.3- Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. Examples: If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known.

This packet says it is for "Fact Families-Making 11" but the worksheet that came with it was for the number 10 but Shaun fixed the issue promptly. This activity was really fun for my students and a great visual way to teach fact families. I would definitely recommend this activity!
