Description
A comprehensive scaffolded note packet on factoring trinomials when a = 1. This is a great intro to factoring for an Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 class after you have taught the FOIL or box method for multiplying polynomials. Students warm up by multiplying binomials, then use this to fill out a factoring chart to "reverse" the operation. The t-chart and ongoing prompts ask students to think about finding two numbers to add to their b term, and multiply to their c term. This lesson is great for lower level classes and can be easily projected!
