Description
Character study assignments using social media templates can spell disaster if they lack clear boundaries! We all know that students will rush to fill in the blanks and images according to what they "believe" and not what was actually said or has taken place in the text. A good character study assignment does not rely heavily on hyperbole or the imagination, but it does call for students to actually read and comprehend the text.
What makes this condensed fakebook profile page SPECIAL, is that it is accompanied by a second page (to be printed double sided) for students to cite the text. The added Prove It! page on the back requires students to closely read the text and complete the character profile with information that is explicitly found in the text or can be inferred from the text.
Because students are NOT required to cite every piece of demographic information (only 11 citations required), there is still plenty of room for creativity and hyperbole!

Great resource! The only thing is that for the first two boxes (drawing space), the kids were unsure what to put there so maybe the title could be changed. I loved this! I used it for my ancient Rome unit.
A Good Start
Met expectations
I had to do some editing for this to work for our assignment, but it was a really helpful start!
On my part, I may have been overzealous in thinking that my 6s would enjoy this; most of them don't use FB. Otherwise, a good resource.
My students were engaged in this lesson! Thanks for creating it!
This is a great resource and beneficial to be language learners!
Using with my 8th graders for making a profile for famous leaders.
Great resource
Fantastic! I love the second side that requires them to "prove it". We are working on textual evidence right now, and this will work so well for my students!
