Description
Are you ready for some FALL anchor charts to help guide your informational writing lessons? These charts will help your students form facts about the topic and understand how to compare and contrast different FALL topics. Included are the labels CAN / HAVE / ARE (along with compare & contrast labels) to help your students form complete sentences as they gain an understanding on how to come up with facts about a topic.
All you will need to do is cut out the picture and labels to create a poster that you can use with your students. Laminate it if you want to use this same chart year after year. Your students will help you label the parts of the topic (words are included) and then after reading a book about the topic (facts about the topic are NOT included) you will write their thoughts as they brainstorm facts about the topic or compare and contrast two topics.
Use these charts during interactive whole group or small group lessons. Use this resource in your kindergarten, first grade or second grade classroom or for any student working on informational writing and needing some support to help them generate facts.
There are also independent labeling pages for each FALL topic. These worksheets will help students with spelling and give students support as they come up with their own facts.
Here are the anchor chart labels for each topic:
- Apple (fruit, stem, leaf, seeds, chamber)
- Pumpkin (fruit, stem, leaf, seeds, pulp)
- Bat (body, ears, bones, head, wings)
- Owl (talons, wings, head, eyes, beak)
- Fall (tree, leaf, acorn, rake, squirrel)
- Turkey (wings, wattle, beak, feet, feathers)
Please note that information is NOT included. You will need to supply your own books or PowerPoints. If you need some informational writing and power point resources that go with these topics check out this bundle:
