"Great, meaningful activity that looks great on a bulletin board! The activity also leaves some room for differentiation which is great."

Description

I just LOVE a good craftivity for math. This "math"tivity focuses on challenging students to find addends that make a ten.

Included in this Set:

  • 3 blank apple variations with and without ten frames
  • 3 Ten frames
  • 3 sets of 10 seeds
  • 4 variations of word problems for counting seeds, addition, and subtraction.

How to Use:

  • Give each student 1 apple, 1 ten frame, 10 seeds, and 1 number sentence paper.
  • Model how to make a ten using the seeds with red and yellow.
  • Students make a ten in the ten frame by gluing red and yellow seeds they colored in the ten frame. Then have them record their number sentence on the writing paper.
  • Students can then color their apple and glue their craftivity together.
  • Use a piece of construction paper to attach the apple and writing together.
  • For differentiation: use the seed counting craftivity or do sums up to 5 instead of 10. For sums up to 20, use two ten frames!
