Description

Fall is when I teach patterns and I love using fall items/goodies to help us! I have created 6 pages of fall items. The first 3 pages are larger sized (15 to a page): pumpkins, sunflowers, leaves; the last 3 pages are smaller sized (35 to a page): apples, pumpkins, and acorns. You can be as creative as you like with these. Your students can create both repeating patterns based on the fall item and/or color they color the item, as well as growing patterns. My students like to use the larger pieces and then have the smaller pieces for the repeating piece of the pattern (see cover photo of real photograph). You can use just pumpkins and apples or print any fall item you think would be great for your students. Make it complex or keep it easy. Print a few pages and cut into strips for students, or make easy piles for kiddos to grab for at they are creating their patterns!!

My students enjoyed using this resource to make patterns and growing patterns. I had students make patterns by cutting out the fall objects. They found it engaging and fun to work with fall objects.
