Ready to print and go! It's a beautiful, fall day for an autumn themed adventure while practicing decoding & encoding specific phonemic skills! Can you make it through all of the twists and turns at the farm? Land on different spaces and risk moving forwards or backward on the game board. Use fun mini erasers (like from Target or Amazon) to use as game pieces. These game boards review syllable types, blends, diagraphs, long vowel patterns, r-controlled vowels, multisyllabic words and more.

This product includes:

18 different board games:

•Alphabet

•Specific features (sh, th, nd, etc..)

•cvc

•Digraphs

•Beg. blends

•-ck endings

•Cvce

•Nasal endings

•Vc/cv (two syllables)

•Hard & soft c/g

•Vowel-r/r controlled

•Vowel teams

•diphthongs

•Silent letters (kn, gn, wr, etc.)

•Affixes

•Compound words

•Vc/cv & vc/c (tiger & rabbit rule)

•Two syllable –r ending words (er/or/ar)

•Recording sheet for encoding practice

How to play:

•Choose a board based on an area of phonemic instruction

•Students take turns rolling a die. Count the number of spaces to move on the board.

•Read the word that is landed on. Cover the word with a game piece (mini eraser)

•Rewrite the word on the recording sheet to practice spelling/encoding

•Keep taking turns while following the game board directions

These board games are great for differentiation amongst groups of different phonemic ability levels. Use these board games in small groups or with partners to reinforce phonics skills. These games tie in with Science of Reading (SOR), UFLI, and LETRS
