What others say

"This is such a good way to introduce fall time with my students. Poems are always so easy to make and it doesn't feel too difficult for students to write. They actually enjoyed it this year and we ended up putting this poem up all during the fall time!"

Description

Fall Simile Poems – Writing Activity & Display Idea

This seasonal writing activity is a fun and creative way to introduce similes! The worksheet includes examples of fall-themed simile poems and provides space for students to brainstorm and write their own.

I love using this activity in the fall—after completing the worksheet, students write their final poems on leaf-shaped cutouts made from construction paper. It makes a beautiful and festive hallway display that showcases both creativity and figurative language!

Perfect for upper elementary students working on descriptive writing and figurative language skills. ✏️
