These 24 task cards all have a short passage, text, or text feature on it that are all fall or Thanksgiving based. On each card, the students are meant to determine the author's purpose and then justify why. You can use them in small groups, as discussion starters, in guided groups, as tasks in centers, as cooperative learning activities and more. They all have 1 main author's purpose, but students might find another if they can justify it correctly. I have included a summary sheet that you can print for the students as well.
