Description
This is a project for the first unit of Calculus - right after the students learn the definition of the derivative and how to find the slope of the tangent line to the graph. Students will first choose a famous curve, make a poster of the equation with graph, take the derivative, find the slope of the tangent line and the equation of the tangent line at two points on the graph, they will also find a few things about the history of the curve. The assignment also comes with a rubric to grade it on a 50 points scale - 7 items (look for the rubric as a separate item for an extremely low cost called -Famous Curves Rubric).

I love that this was editable and I could make it fit my class. This is a great project for seeing the applications of derivatives and investigating some interesting curves.
This was a great project for my IB students to complete as an extra credit project!
My students found this activity to be very engaging.
I LOVED this resource, which I used during distance learning. It was beautifully designed, relevant, rigorous, and engaging.
Thanks!
Thank you
Can you provide the rubric that is referred to in the project?
You will find that under a separate item on TPT.
Thanks!
