This real-world farm planting scenario allows students to create their own farm and calculate the net sales they make with the resulting produce. They will choose their crops, plan the farm design, set the scale, figure the area and perimeter of each field, and the operating costs, sales, and income for their farm. This can easily be adapted into a class presentation where students can compete to see who's farm had the highest net income, and is a great opportunity to include finances into the classroom while practicing other skills.
