Description
This resource is a Faults & Folds Virtual Sort with a short reading and a printable key. Students identify and label examples of faults and folds with colorful picture sorting activities. This resource reviews and covers the elastic limit of rocks, stress, the law of original horizontality, normal faults, reverse faults, strike-slip faults, anticline folds, and syncline folds. Note: the short reading helps students review how to identify all of these faults and folds but if you need a resource to introduce this concept to students for the first time I have a lesson linked below.
Print out a few copies of the printable key so students can check their own work when they are finished to save yourself time and give students immediate feedback.
The sort is 12 slides with a printable key. Students label examples of faults and folds and answer true or false and fill-in-the-blank questions. The key can be printed out for students to check their own work when they have finished. This will allow students to get immediate feedback. This resource is for 8th-11th Science Classes.
