Description

A Feelings Check is essential for every counseling program. I use feelings checks every day in individual and group sessions. They are great for helping students identify their feelings and for facilitating conversations.

Feelings checks are also great for discussing facial cues and body language recognition in regard to identifying feelings. If you have students struggling with feelings recognition try out this feeling recognition digital activity!

Feelings Checks are not exclusively for counseling. They are a great resource for SLPs, SPED, and Gen Ed teachers!

This was a great resource to use to help students recognize what they are feeling. It worked well when they came in my room to calm down.

I used this chart in the calm-down corner of my classes. The students use it all the time to express how they are feeling and are able to use it before they exit the corner when returning to the whole class lesson.

I love the version that shows the person's body as well as their face - kids seem to find these graphics engaging. I've used this resource for working on identifying/describing emotions and in the context of retelling stories.

Several of my students are nonverbal and I am working with them to be able to use these poster/charts to help tell me and the others around them how they are feeling. Thank you
