Description
These figurative language task cards check students' knowledge of the following types of figurative language:
-Similes
-Metaphors
-Alliteration
-Personification
-Onomatopoeia
-Hyperbole
Each card provides the students with a sentence that includes a figurative language phrase (underlined to help them identify correctly). There are 12 cards (2 of each type of figurative language). A student recording sheet and an answer key are provided.
I love to cut the cards apart and hang them around the room to get students up and moving, but they can also be used as game cards or at desks/tables. This would also be a great pre-assessment or formative assessment.
