Description

Here is a FUN hands-on math project for students!

This can be used for:
-The first week of school
-Last week of school
-Division/multiplication/addition/subtraction unit project!!!

Comes with 2 different versions:
1. Students can draw/color their face in the center OR
2. Students can bring a picture of them from home to glue in the middle. (I like this way because it's more personal)

I will post my student example pictures when I get a chance! My students absolutely LOVED doing this!!!

I made it more challenging by requiring students to incorporate all four operations at least one time and to mix it up with fractions/decimals, etc. I even told students to incorporate at least 1 area/perimeter problem!

******SO BASICALLY:
Students write the answers to what the question (what is their shoe size) on the final copy of the Figure Me Out page.
On page 1, students write number sentences or equations to figure out the answer (what their shoe size is).
Then, students cut out their equations and glue only the TOP part on top of their answers on the final copy page. This will be a little flap that reveals their answers.

Once all students are done, I have them glue their final product onto construction paper and place them around the room. I then give the class an opportunity to go around the classroom and try to figure out their classmates by solving for the answers! I will usually pair students up so they must figure each other out and then compare after to see what they got right/wrong!

STUDENTS LOVE THIS so much!!!! I hope yours do too!

*I completely recreated the idea I found on Google.*
I rather have students cut/glue the flaps down opposed to using sticky notes as it tends to work so much better.
