Description
Combine color coded sentences (ice cream scoops) using a conjunction (ice cream cone).
Students can complete the sentence with the second ice cream scoop, match the two scoops with the correct conjunction, read/combine the sentences using the conjunction, etc. as you see fit!
Conjunctions included: since, until, so, if, unless
3 sentence pairs per conjunction
Intended to be made into a file folder game, with the cones glued to the folder and the scoops attached with velcro, but adapt as needed.

My fourth and third graders loved this visual resource.
I printed out, laminated, and put velcro on the pieces for a quick resourceto use in downtime. The older kids need practice with this concept.
My students really enjoy using this resource! I frequently target complex conjunctions with my upper elementary and middle school students and can have a really hard time finding appropriate activities. It is easy to change the level of scaffolding to make the task more easy or difficult, and my students have enjoyed including other conjunctions they have learned as well. Thank you!

I have been looking for concise activities that involve more complex conjunctions beyond "and, but, or." This was absolutely perfect. This can also be expanded to include "although, otherwise, while, even though". This was perfect.
